I'm seeing life increasingly through a lens of my contribution toward goodness, life, and grace and then my efforts that take away from these things. I'm only one life, just like any of us. And I want my life to be given toward positive contributions of the whole. That's the way of Jesus of Nazareth, whom I'm patterning my life after. So it seems to me that being a citizen of the whole is a choice that you can't assume. And it's the path I've chosen to follow.

On being a man...

Someone asked me to contribute a thought on being a man for a collection she's passing on to her son as he enters adulthood.

A man need never be stuck on any failure or success. The best of life is there for the taking as we believe. God intends for us to live life rooted in his abundance. A man must have the humility to know that all things begin and ends with God. We need our Creator. Because of that we have the power to change. Our lack of belief holds us back.

Dave,

Some deep thoughts expressed in a few words. Without a doubt, you are a man, and just in case you didn't realize it, you're becoming an old man.

God bless,
Tony

Tony,

Yep, I've noticed my body getting old more than anything else. But in my head and heart I feel the same youthful energy of days gone by... :-)
