I'm seeing life increasingly through a lens of my contribution toward goodness, life, and grace and then my efforts that take away from these things. I'm only one life, just like any of us. And I want my life to be given toward positive contributions of the whole. That's the way of Jesus of Nazareth, whom I'm patterning my life after. So it seems to me that being a citizen of the whole is a choice that you can't assume. And it's the path I've chosen to follow.

Facing the Giants

I saw the movie Facing the Giants last night. It's got a good storyline with a "made for TV" quality. That's ok for me - a good story is a good story. Besides that, inspiring sports films have become a family favorite in the Lantow house.

When we popped it into the DVD player we didn't realize it was a Christian film. It was released by Sony films, but completely produced by a church in GA. I love the spirit that the film makers came at this. One that says, "we want to change the world from our locale". A powerful "we can do it" attitude pervades the film and comes across loud and clear to the viewer. I needed to see this movie last night. I kind of had a divine appointment with it. It was a movie I had very little expectation about because I knew nothing about it. I actually like seeing a movie that way. A good one catches you by surprise.

Some things I like: it's an underdog story, with strong inluences from the Bible's David and Goliath; seeking of faith the permeates a whole life; exploration of the supernatural; and a never quit mentality.

Here is the movie website for your viewing pleasure.

Peace,

David
